Based in suburban St. Louis, Missouri, we are a professional dye studio specializing in our own range of hand dyed fabric and thread for stitching, as well as monthly subscription clubs.
Our full-service brick and mortar cross stitch store is now open! Whether you'll be visiting us in person, shop online or belong to one of our monthly clubs, we love helping stitchers find just the right materials to create one of a kind works of art.

Meet Colour and Cotton Hand Dyed Thread!
You'll love our signature line of hand dyed embroidery thread, produced in our St. Louis, Missouri dye studio.
Our threads are soft, smooth and plush, providing excellent coverage on a variety of fabrics. We produce over 450 colors and continue to expand our range to meet stitchers' creative needs.
Best of all, our threads come in 8-yard skeins, and we are transitioning to labeling each skein with a dye lot number!
Colour and Cotton Hand Dyed Fabric
We also produce our own range of hand dyed linens and aida. Our fabrics are known for rich color quality, gentle mottling and a nice in-hand feel. Using quality Zweigart fabrics, our dyeing and finishing process is designed to be gentle on the fabric and to reduce shrinkage.
We dye our colors on a rotating basis, playing with the seasons, fresh hues and familiar favorites. We often create new and special edition colors. Your Colour and Cotton fabric will be as unique as your own project - life is short, use the fabric!
