Colour and Cotton is a friendly and creative needlework shop specializing in cross stitch, embroidery, hand-dyed fabrics, threads, kits, and accessories. Our goal is to create a welcoming and inspiring environment where stitchers of all experience levels feel supported, excited, and at home.

Position Summary

We are seeking a part-time Retail Sales Associate to provide exceptional customer service, assist customers with project and product selection, maintain an organized and inviting sales floor, and support day-to-day shop operations. The ideal candidate is friendly, reliable, detail-oriented, and enjoys working with people in a creative retail environment.

Responsibilities

·         Greet customers and provide a warm, welcoming shopping experience

·         Assist customers with product selection and answer basic questions about cross stitch, embroidery, and needlework supplies

·         Process sales accurately through our point-of-sale system

·         Restock merchandise and maintain attractive product displays

·         Keep the sales floor clean, organized, and well-stocked

·         Help prepare and fulfill customer orders when needed

·         Learn product knowledge to confidently assist customers

·         Support special events, classes, and store promotions

·         Follow store policies and contribute to a positive team environment

Qualifications

·         Previous retail or customer service experience preferred

·         Interest in crafting, needlework, cross stitch, embroidery, quilting, sewing, or other creative hobbies is a plus

·         Friendly, outgoing, and comfortable engaging with customers

·         Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

·         Ability to work independently and as part of a team

·         Able to stand for the duration of a shift, walking, and lifting up to 25 pounds

·         Reliable transportation and dependable attendance

Schedule

·         Part-time position, daytime only, flexible 

·         Weekend availability (Saturdays) preferred

·         Flexible scheduling based on store needs
